Introducing our development Res 144 Anderson Street

Our Story
Inner City Development
As the city of Joburg deteriorated with the mass exodus of big corporates, a new working class started coming to the city. These people were in need of accommodation which was not available. Some owners converted office facilities with partitions and were renting space by few square meters per person. Facilities such as water and ablutions were those that were available at each floor.
Kelello Properties (Pty) Ltd (KP)was registered in 2005 to focus on the city’s urban renewal. The vision of the company is to provide dignified living to the upward mobile mass market.
This project is KP’s first. The building, previously known as Kimberlite House, situated on the corner of Anderson and Troye Streets, Marshalltown, was for many years the centre of exclusive jewellery and diamond cutters. They slowly moved out while the building stood empty for about 8 years; in the process of which it was passed down from father to his three children.

From Our Founder
How it all started.
About six years ago Thalia Vellios worked for Absa, setting up their Mass Market SBU. Her passion for the market made her aware of the difficult circumstances that people were facing in getting dignified accommodation nearby the city. Most families traveled at great cost and dangerous circumstances and safety, from townships to get to their work destination. Family lifestyle and quality was reduced as parents and children travelled to their destinations.
